Focusing on the Best Moments in Buenos Aires

My Dad was working in Buenos Aires, Argentina long before we moved to London. During our regular dinner conversations he used to mention a lot about the place he loved and worked. He used to share with us his stories about the awesome wine tastings in Buenos Aries. So nurtured by my dad’s experience I have all along my life wanted to taste those awesome wines of Argentina and take part in at least one of those marvelous wine tasting sessions being held there.

So finally my day arrived when I could see my long term plans and dream come true. I took a week off in my company and set out to explore my dream country and the hidden taste of those innumerous wines. I flew straight to Mendoza in Argentina, where we will get to taste some of the best wines in the world. Every place in Mendoza offered me a unique wine tasting experience. Later I flew to Buenos Aries and visited the places mentioned by my dad to savor the tastes of the wines there. All the places in Buenos Aires had beautiful interiors. We went to a crazy wine tasting in Buenos Aires at an awesome French hotel, and the interiors were super nice. At the hotel, I went about tasting Malbec wines, Cabernet Sauvignon wines, Bonarda and many more varieties with the help of the service person available there. I also got a chance to do wine pairing and food pairings of several varieties and savor its unique taste.

I also bought some wines to be taken back home, of course only the allowed limits. I bought a couple of books written by the famous wine tasters of Buenos Aries, to learn more about the art of wine tasting. It was overall a memorable trip and my taste buds could never forget the taste of those wines.

Wine and My Crazy Dog

I am so sick of seeing those dirty, disgusting, snobby wine labels on such deliciously decadent red varietals from Argentina. Who cares what awesome bodega your favorite Malbec came from? I want to see something different, something new, and exciting! I want beautiful colors, and crazy designs that break boundaries, and make wine into something cool, hip, and make all the hipsters go crazy!

When I went to my local wine store, I saw a new bottle of wine. It was called Romeo & Juliet. The thing that really stuck out was the crazy design. It had a white background, with some crazy pink and purple lipstick marks. It looked like someone had actually kissed the bottle! It said that this wine was from Mendoza, Argentina. There are a lot of beautiful girls in Argentina! Obviously the artist drew his inspiration from these beautiful specimens that walk the streets of Mendoza, Argentina everyday!

I just had to know who designed this crazy label! I asked my friend who works at the wine store, and he told me that a fellow by the name of Benjamin Deal designed this awesome label. He told me that his favorite part of the label was the purple shoe and pink star in the lower right hand corner of the label. He thought that although it was really small, it really gave the bottle style! Benjamin Deal is so smart! He must be from either France or Argentina. I hear that is where all the crazy designers come from!

I became obsessed with this bottle of wine. I bought cases for my friends, family, and even started giving my dog a little wine for breakfast! He is not a fan of wine. He thinks that it is too bitter. I think that he is crazy! But I guess he is just a dogright?

The Three Steps of Humidor Preparation

Congratulations on the purchase off your cigar humidification humidor! Before you begin using it, there will several simple cigar care steps that you will need to follow. First and foremost, if your humidor came with an analog hygrometer, then you will need to calibrate it according to the salt solution method. Generally, synthetic hair hygrometers are the analog meter of choice for a cigar humidification humidor. However, there are many individuals who opt to purchase digital hygrometers. Many cigar lovers prefer digital over analog hygrometers, because they do not need to be calibrated and their interface is much easier to read.

The second step in the cigar care steps is to fill the humidifier of your cigar humidification device. The humidifier should be moistened with a propylene glycol solution or distilled water. It should be left in the liquid for approximately one hour, undisturbed. After this time period has elapsed, it should be removed from the solution and shaken gently so that excess moisture will fall off. Similarly, if the humidifier is dripping, any excess liquid should be removed with a dry cloth. Once it has been dried thoroughly, the humidifier can be placed back into the cigar humidification humidor.

The final step in this cigar care series will be to moisten your cigar humidification device, or humidor. A cloth, moistened with distilled water, should be used to wipe down the interior walls and any dividers or trays in the humidor. A glass of distilled water should be taken and left in the humidor, undisturbed, for approximately three days. This time period will allow the interior walls of the Humidors to absorb a sufficient amount of humidity. Then, the Cigar Humidor will be ready for use. Over the next few days, you will want to keep an eye on the humidity levels of your cigar humidification humidor just to ensure that it is in proper working order.
